AD DESIGN DISASTER NARROWLY AVERTED!

One of the most PITA things when filling 9×12’s or selling postcard-related marketing is not always the process of selling the ads; in fact that might actually be the simple part. It’s managing a dozen or more ad creatives that can be the part that makes you want to bash your skull in with a hammer.

Okay maybe it doesn’t get that extreme but it can be a royal pain. Anyone who’s put together ads knows this, especially when dealing with ten or more businesses at once and trying to make it all work smoothly.

You go into this new business venture focused on how you’re going to prospect, pitch, and close … and then turns out the frustrating part might be just getting something simple like just getting ads created to your client’s satsifaction.

It’s not so much the technical difficulty, because any designer can make good looking ads from scratch, but it’s the communication and between your client, you, and the designer that can really drag things out and cause (unnecessary) headaches.

I’ve Got a Solution

Look, I’m a simpleton, and the last thing I’m going to do is create some buggy software that creates ads for you like you’re probably thinking.

Someday I’ll probably put a library of photoshop templates together that you can buy but I’ve got something that will actually work even better in the meantime:

Right now you’re going to do what I do and use my …

FREAKIN’ SIMPLE AD DESIGN
WORKSHEET “TOOL”.

Listen to the podcast and you can hear a rundown of it from the horses mouth (a very stuffed-up yours truly) and in the meantime subscribe to my little podcast alert list at the end of this post and it will be auto-delivered to you right away. No charge. And no onslaught of email spam coming at you either, I promise.

I’ve used this ‘Homer Simpson’ Simple worksheet tool for years now and it works wonders. I was going to put it into this big grandiose package that I was going to sell someday but screw it, I want you to have it free.

All you simply do is print it out and carry a few copies, then when you sell an ad (or are consulting with a client about creating a postcard), you can get all the right info you need for the design right then and there.

I swear this little sheet will make you look more professional and save unbelievable amounts of time and stress for you, your client, and your designer.

You’ll wonder how you did this stuff without it, trust me. And all it is is a little stinkin’ worksheet.

Simple. Simple. Simple. Simple works!

Put your ears to the podcast, sign up for updates below, and bask in the glorious email that’s about to arrive in your inbox, containing one of the most useful ‘tools’ in 9×12/M3/direct mail history.

  1. Hey there Bob,

Looking forward to the sheet after hearing your podcast so signed up (with another email), BUT haven’t seen the link to the sheet come through bud.

    Please advise amigo.

  2. Bob, a good natural source for a stuffed up nose/congestion is Peppermint oil. I use Young Living Essential Oils to be a great place to get them. I’m not an affiliate, just recommending a great product. :-) Just put a small dab on the outside of each nostril and you’re good to go. You can also add a couple of drops into your tea and breathe in the fumes as you drink it.

BTW, great PDF to get all the essentials needed before putting an ad together. Thanks.

It should show up any second, let me know if it doesn’t. I actually have some fisherman’s friend, I thought it was more for coughs but I’ll try it.

  3. Hey Bob, I went to my podcast player and it seems to stop at episode 26, which I guess means I’ve messed a few. I use Podcast Republic, and have never had a problem with any other show. Just a head’s up, because there may be others that are subscribed and not getting your content. I don’t know the ins and outs of making them available across the various podcatchers.

Thanks for the heads up Mike, must be some problem with my feed and that service. It’s feeding up-to-date on itunes but I’ll check on Podcast Republic, thanks a lot for that heads up.

  4. Thanks for this. Just found out about you around Thursday or Friday of last week and have scrambled to get everything together to hit the streets a little later today.

One of the last things I was going to put together was something like this over the next week but you saved me time. Just wanted to let you know, I love the podcasts. Listened to them all this past weekend, finishing this one up this morning. Fingers crossed I can get this first card filled over the next few weeks.

I’m also likely to use your services for the whole printing process. I’m not sure if you are still checking this, but when should I have everything submitted to you to have the cards sent to the post office the first or second week of November? And do you still have design services available? If possible, I’d rather not have to stress about tracking down a designer.

Thanks again for everything. Once I get this card sold, I’ll be signing up for your larger products/membership.

Hi Tracy I’m glad you’re giving this a go and thanks for listening to everything. You can definitely fill a card as long as you put the effort in and don’t start slacking once you start. Make it a goal to talk with five business owners every day you go out (not managers, but owners) and you’ll have your card filled in no time.

Email me and I’ll give you designer recommendations (itsbobross (at) gmail). Give yourself a week from ordering the printing to receiving them, just keep me updated.

Hey Maxx sorry about that, I switched autoresponders and forgot to link this optin up. Sending you an email in a sec with it.

      1. Hi Bob,
Sorry I didn’t tell you sooner, but I was able to download the
Common Ad Elements worksheet, some time ago. Thank you.
Revisited this episode (31) today because I have a “problem” with it.

        Change of Plan:
I just saw that you sent me an email today – I’m on your email list.
I’m going to reply to that email. In my reply, I’ll outline the “problem”,
        and make a suggestion.

        Cheers!

  7. Bob,

I just downloaded this but I did not receive the free ad design tool, only the one page ad setup sheet.

  8. Hey Bob requesting the add to worksheet that you had on your podcast EP 31. we appreciate all the tools and training you having been providing us via your Facebook live.

  9. Your time is provided for free though, filter systems spend a couple of hours answering surveys in substitution for freebies.
It is completely OK being cautious if you have the opportunity win something for free.

It might bring unwanted virus, or malwares and infiltrate your pc lacking the knowledge of it.
